<p>"Depth mapping" is the process of extracting a grayscale image, in which colors indicate the distance from the point of view, from a 3D model.

Ardoise offers a unique approach by reversing this technique to generate a 3D model from a depth image that users can draw directly within the app.

Users start by sketching the outline of their shape and then apply depth on both sides to see their 3D model take form in real-time. The flexibility allows for adjustments to the outline and continuous painting as needed.

For more intricate designs, Ardoise enables the creation and management of separate shapes that can be edited independently while rendering simultaneously on the unified model.

Each side of every shape features customizable depth bounds which can be fine-tuned on-the-fly, determining the range from minimal depth to maximal depth for precision.

Export your final 3D model to OBJ and STL formats for further refinement, integration into projects, or 3D printing purposes.
